Celebrating My Last Birthday In My 20s

Beauty Blog By AK The Glamour Addict Earrings
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my last 20th birthday than with my family. This year, I decided to leave my busy life in Los Angeles to spend my birthday and the holidays in San Antonio, TX. As an entrepreneur and content curator, I have the ability to work from anywhere. As I began planning my trip to Texas, I started brainstorming ideas for my birthday photo-shoot (Pinterest is my favorite source for inspiration, you can follow my account here). One of my goals while visiting my home state is to collaborate with local brands and businesses.

Wardrobe

I decided to reach out to my day one, Poolside Collection. Poolside Collection is known for producing over the top bedazzled hand-made garments. Each piece is hand-stitched to perfection which makes them perfect for any major occasion. Pictured above is one of the newest "Celebrity Couture Collection" pieces. The inside is lined with pink satin and the outside with hot pink sequins sprinkled with hand placed swarvoski crystals.

Accessories

I paired the hot pink blazer dress with the “Adrianna” oversized flower glass crystal earrings in color Fuschia. I was so happy that the earrings matched perfectly. I found these earrings to be super festive as they look like poinsettia flowers. Perfect to wear for the Christmas Season.

I also choose to wear my brands latest Luxury Belt Bag (iridescent color). Belt bags are all the rage this season. Not only are these bags super trendy, but multifunctional. I really loved how the belt bag accentuated my waist, and snugged the blazer onto all the right places.

Birthday Cake

Letter CakeI connected with a local San Antonio business by the name of Cake and Cookie Queens, an amazing bakery lead by Marlena Reyes. I sent Marlena inspiration pictures and the date I needed the letter cake by. Once the day came for me to pick up the cake, I was absolutely gushing at how gorgeous it came out.  Marlena told me that the cake took approximately 3 days to create - each layer of the cake was made per day. She went on to explain that the batter was made and shaped into my initial on the first day. On the second day, the cake was iced with frosting and layered. Lastly, the macaroons were freshly made and fresh fruit was hand painted with gold flakes. If you live in the San Antonio area, Marlena’s Cake and Cookie Queens creations are absolutely magical. Just check out her Instagram feed and Facebook profile. You can message her directly to place and order (210) 716-2430.

As I mentioned earlier in this post, my goal while visiting Texas is to collaborate with local businesses and influencers. If you are interested in working together, please contact me at bizdev@annakaren.org - I look forward to collaborating!
